Overview
Seller Snap has introduced a feature to automatically calculate and populate the 'additional cost' column with inbound shipping costs based on item weight. This tool ensures accurate profit margin calculations for FBA listings by including inbound shipping costs.
How It Works
The tool uses the weight of each SKU and the user-inputted shipping cost per pound or kilogram to compute the inbound shipping cost. This calculated cost is then automatically added to the 'additional cost' column. The feature works for both metric and imperial depending on the specific marketplace.
Example
Item Weight: 500 grams (0.5 KG)
Cost per Kilogram: $10.00
Calculation
Weight-Based Additional Cost = Item Weight X Cost Per KG or LB
Weight-Based Additional Cost = 0.5KG X $10.0
Therefore, the additional cost added is $5.00.
User Instructions
How to activate the feature.
Navigate to Store Settings.
Go to the Inventory section.
Locate the Weight-Based Additional Cost Feature.
Input the price per KG or LB.
Click Apply Settings
Important Note
If users have overridden their store-level WBAC settings by editing the Additional Cost manually on the SKU-level, the WBAC calculation for that SKU is disabled and will only use the modified value. If users want to revert these SKUs back to the store level settings, a CSV import is needed with the column header: revert_additional_cost as shown here:
