FAQ: Where are my delisted / inactive items?

In This Article

Overview:

Breaching Amazon's Fair Pricing Policy can cause the deactivation of items that are in stock. This article explains how users can find these deactivated listings and what Seller Snap does to reactivate them.

When Seller Snap's repricer raises the price of an item, Amazon could deactivate the listing for two reasons:

  1. Amazon Price Guard
  2. Price Gouging

In both of these scenarios, Seller Snap will take the following steps to try and reactivate it:

  • Step 1: Make an API call to find the highest active offer on the listings and revert to it, if it exists.
  • Step 2: Drop the price every 6 minutes until the item is active again or when the configured minimum price is reached.

Step 3: In the cases where the repricer is successful in reactivating the listings, Seller Snap will set a new temporary upper limit to avoid deactivation.

To understand what to do about these listings, there are a few things you should know:

  1. Inactive items on Amazon are included in one of two categories in Seller Snap: Out of Stock or Deactivated.
  2. When the AI or Win Buy Box strategies are enabled, listings may occasionally jump to the maximum price as part of its profit optimization process. During these times, items may be deactivated and flagged as a high pricing error.

What can be done?

  1. Focus on listings with fulfillable quantity.
  2. Double-check your Amazon Price Guard to make sure it is not inside your Seller Snap min and max range.
  3. Put reasonable max prices. There are no rules for setting a max price - use data points like current buy box price, average buy box price, and average selling price for reference.

When Amazon delists or deactivates a listing, Seller Snap automatically categorizes the listing as 'deactivated',
